What We Do |
Given the current scenario of Indian economy, literacy rate and education level, one can understand that basic education does not help in betterment of life. To an extent, the current scenario is much better than what it was a decade ago. Basic literacy is helping an individual to think and take rational decisions, helps the individual to read and write but, it does not have any impact on the next generation. So what do we do? The answer is simple- an individual should not be just a literate but the educated in the true sense. One should pursue or continue the higher education. Here, we're not talking about the middle class or an upper middle class or even a rich class group. The problem lies only in the lower middle class and people below the poverty line. With the help of government and private aids students who have interest in studies complete their high school, but at the end of the day they go back to work in a workshop or do a basic accounting work in any business houses. At Aran foundation we identify deserving students who have secured good marks and are still interested in continuing their education genuinely. We also ensure that the only reason that stands between them and higher education is a financial constraint and help them by providing financial aid. Every individual we help is provided with an opportunity to earn more, provide a better lifestyle for their family and moreover change the next generation. We collect funds from volunteers and people who are interested and believe that it is truly important to educate the current generation to ensure a better tomorrow.
